What is mantu? Our signature dumplings, explained
Thin hand-folded dough, a spiced beef and onion filling, garlic yoghurt and a slow-cooked tomato sauce — here's what arrives when you order mantu.
Golniva Kitchen ·
Mantu are small, hand-folded dumplings. Each one is a thin sheet of dough wrapped around a filling of spiced minced beef and onion, then steamed until the dough turns soft and silky.
What's on the plate
- Eight steamed beef and onion dumplings
- Cool garlic yoghurt spooned over the top
- A slow-cooked tomato and split-pea sauce
- A scatter of dried mint
The magic is in the contrast: warm, savoury dumplings, tangy yoghurt and a rich, gently spiced sauce in every forkful. If you like dumplings of any kind, this is an easy first step into something new.
Good to know
- Mild heat — flavourful rather than fiery
- Contains gluten (wheat) and milk (yoghurt)
- Served hot, straight from the steamer
