Privacy policy

Golniva (“we”) prepares and delivers food in Cork City, Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, who handles it and your rights under the GDPR and Irish data protection law. Questions: sales@golniva.ie.

What we collect

Order requests: your name, mobile number, email address, delivery address, area, Eircode (optional), delivery instructions, requested time, the dishes you choose and any allergy note you decide to give us.

Catering, cake, business and contact enquiries: your name, contact details and the event or request details you type in, such as date, guest numbers and dietary needs (as numbers — please don't send us names or health details of your guests).

Taste Guide: the question you type and the diet/allergen choices you tick. Please don't include personal details in it.

Why we use it

To review and confirm your order or enquiry, prepare and deliver your food, collect payment on delivery, reply to you and handle complaints. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing that contract. We never sell your data, and we don't send marketing unless you clearly opt in.

Allergy notes

An allergy note can be health information. We only use it to prepare your food safely, share it only with the people preparing and delivering your order, and don't keep it longer than needed for that order. We process it with your explicit consent, given when you choose to add it — you can always tell us by phone instead.

Who handles your data

• Email service (Resend): order and enquiry details are sent by email to our order inbox (sales@golniva.ie), and a copy to you.
• Website hosting: our hosting provider processes the technical data needed to show you the website (such as your IP address) and short-lived security logs.
• AI provider (Anthropic): if the AI Taste Guide is switched on, your question and diet/allergen choices are sent to Anthropic to suggest dishes. Your name, address and order details are never sent to it.

Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, pixels or analytics. Your basket is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it isn't lost if you refresh; a short summary of your last request is kept in the browser tab until you close it. You can clear both in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Order and enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to fulfil your order, deal with any questions or complaints and meet accounting requirements, then deleted. Allergy notes are not kept beyond the order they relate to.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for a copy, and withdraw consent at any time by contacting sales@golniva.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
